Huron ESSER III stakeholder survey
Over the summer Governor Whitmer signed legislation allocating Federal funds from the American Rescue Plan (ARP) to local school districts,  These funds are commonly called the ESSER III funding.  The purpose of these one-time funds is "to prevent, prepare for, and respond to" the COVID-19 pandemic.  Districts are also required to reserve at least 20% of the ESSER III funds to address learning loss.
As an HSD stakeholder, you are a key stakeholder and the district is interested in gathering feedback on how best to utilize the funds within the bold initiatives of the strategic plan listed below:
  • Provide a safe and purposeful learning environment to meet the academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs of every student.
  • Establish a comprehensive and systematic communication plan to engage all members of our educational community.
  • Ensure vertical and horizontal alignment of curriculum, coordinated professional development, and sharing of best practices in order to provide rigorous and engaging classroom instruction to all students.
  • Provide opportunities for staff and students to be leaders in our schools.
  • Institute a district technology plan that fosters research-based instructional technology, best practices, and professional development.
Here is a link to the  Huron ESSER III stakeholder survey that will be used to help prioritize spending of the ESSER III funding to meet the academic and social-emotional needs of all our students. Please complete the survey by October 26th.
